How This Site Earns Money

Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one and book, the platform pays this site a commission. You pay exactly the same price you would pay booking directly: a booking through an affiliate link costs the reader nothing extra. The commission comes out of the platform's side, not yours.

Not every link earns money. Many pages link only to a museum's own official ticket page, and those links earn this site nothing. The mix is deliberate and it is explained in full below.

Which Links Are Affiliate Links

Booking buttons and cards on museum pages lead to live ticket listings sold through four booking platforms: GetYourGuide, Viator, Klook and GuruWalk. Where a card sells an admission product, the link is an affiliate link and this site earns a commission if you book through it.

Links to a museum's own ticket page, to a museum's official information page, or to any page on this site itself are plain links and earn nothing.

Pages That Earn Nothing

Two groups of museum pages carry no affiliate product at all:

The Ghibli Museum Exception

The Ghibli Museum, Mitaka is deliberately linked to its own ticketing channel and earns this site nothing. The museum bans resale: its own words are that ticket purchase for resale is not allowed. Tickets are named, the purchaser's name is printed on the ticket, ID may be checked at the entrance, and entry may be refused if the named person is absent. A reader sent to a reseller can be turned away at the door. The only channels the museum itself names are Lawson Ticket and the Sunrise Tours JTB bus tour, so that is where this site points you, commission or no commission.

GuruWalk And The Free Walking Tours

GuruWalk is a pay-what-you-want walking tour platform. The walks listed on it are free to book: you reserve the slot, join the guide, and tip what you think the walk was worth at the end. On this site's free and budget pages, GuruWalk links point to real Tokyo walks, and those links are affiliate links: if you book and tip, the site earns a commission. The walk itself still costs nothing up front.

Prices And Figures On This Site

Every price, rating and review count shown on cards and booking panels comes from the live listings and moves with the date you pick and the currency the platform charges in. Door prices are the yen figures a visitor pays at a Tokyo ticket window. Product prices are shown in US dollars because that is what the booking cards render. A figure on a card can change between the day you read a page and the day you book, because the platforms reprice by date and demand.

Where no price is shown for a product, none is stated. The button does the work: the price depends on the date you choose and is shown when you pick one.

What This Site Does Not Do

Questions about a booking, a refund or a ticket go to the platform or the museum, not to this site. This directory points the way; the transaction is always between you and the seller.
